I recently called my favorite couple in the whole wide world, the Nissons, on their cell phone in St. George. They’re in their nineties, but were out and about together, which is often the case when I reach them.

Last time I was there in St. George with them, we had ventured into a Best Buy to help them find a simple video camcorder that would make it easy for Mom Nisson to tour their beautiful home and talk about the priceless heritage of memories in their home – pictures on the wall, souvenirs from their travels, ancestral treasures, and so on. For example, Dr. Nisson has a room with pictures, many of them signed, of the many movie stars whose smiles he perfected, including Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable – right there with his exercise equipment that has kept him so relatively healthy and spry all these years.

Anyway, I love my Flip Mino HD, but that’s not available anymore, so I checked at CoolHotNot. By clicking on the Products tab and then the button for the Video, Camcorders, & Accessories category, I was able to find the most highly ranked video camcorder – the Sony Bloggie. And that’s what we bought for them.

To make a long story short, they asked me to order another one for them, which I’m happy to do. I’ll just visit CoolHotNot, search for “Bloggie“, and click to buy it at Amazon.com. Easy peasy.

SoundMatters FoxL Personal Audiophile Loudspeaker

Xpert Mini-Reviews

Dave Whittle (4/11/2011)

Best sound I’ve ever heard from a speaker this small. Plus, the flexibility and convenience of the Bluetooth version is awesome. I use it as a speaker for my iPad as well as to turn my cell phone into a speakerphone.

SoundMatters FoxL Personal Audiophile Loudspeaker

Description

The Soundmatters foxL(tm) is the world’s first pocket-sized portable stereo speaker system that good enough for an audio purist, defying conventional wisdom about sound. Sound+Vision Magazine says when measured up-close (as one for listening), foxL’s response “… looks like that of a well-engineered, $2,000-per-pair bookshelf speaker.” Powered by its built-in lithium ion battery, a included wall-charger, or USB connection, fox provides shockingly good fidelity (and bass) for it’s size. It battery actually doubles as a bass woofer (patent-pending) and it’s patented “Twoofer” drivers are built much like an audiophle tweeter with the twist that they can also woof. foxL was designed by physicist, former NASA engineer and audio design legend Dr Godehard Guenther. Accepts stereo 3.5mm audio input. Battery life up to 5 hours. Dimensions: 5.6″ x 2.2″ x 1.4″. Weighs 9.5 oz.
